What's New!

American Legion Post 202 is forming an Honor Guard that will serve at military and veteran funerals as well at other patriotic ceremonies. We have a bugler, possibly two, and two others who have stepped up to be Honor Guard members. We will need probably a minimum of 10 to form the Honor Guard. Thus far nine have signed up, one of whom is a bagpiper Training for honor guard members will be done by by a member of the post who is an Honor Guard member and trainer for the MU Pershing Rifle Drill Team. This is a big opportunity for our post. If you are interested in doing this contact Paul Hobbs on Facebook by going to http://www.facebook.com/groups/Post202/ or just calling the Post by calling 573-442-2950.

Join fellow American Legion Post 202 members for "Gunday Monday" at the range. As part of our Outdoor Recreation Program, Post 202 Legion members have been meeting at a local shooting range every Monday to fellowship and build marksmanship skills. This practice is laying the ground work for our Post 202 Shooting Team that will compete against other Post around Missouri. We also have a monthly team meeting at the Post on the first Thursday of each month at 5:30 p.m. If you would like to know more about this program or to join the shooting team, contact us by e-mail at: Post202.ORP@gmail.com.

The Bar is Now Open!
As of January 1, the Post bar is open and the hours are 5 to 8 PM Monday through Thursday, and 5 to 10 PM, or later if busy, Friday and Saturday. The bar will be closed Sunday. For more information, call 573-442-2950.

American Legion Riders
Post 202 American Legion Riders (ALR) chapter is up and running. The purpose of the ALR is to promote and support programs of the American Legion, which may include participation in parades, charities, veteran’s issues, and many other events.
The ALR is not the same organization as the Patriot Guard Riders, although both groups support our veterans. The Patriot Guard Riders got its start in August of 2005 with the American Legion Riders, chapter 136 in response to Westboro's protests at military funerals. Today, ALR members often ride with the Patriot Guard.
