Flag Orders

When the flag is ordered to be flown at half mast, click here to find out why.

Flag Etiquette

Veterans, please note this change.  There was a recent change to the flag etiquette code as it pertains to our conduct during hoisting, lowering or passing of the U.S. flag.  The code now reads, " Members of the Armed Forces and veterans who are present but not in uniform may render the military salute.”

For details about flag etiquette go to: www.legion.org/national/americanflag/flagcodeThis web site has the pledge allegiance, its history, proper display of the flag, and appropriate conduct when the flag is displayed or hoisted.  To get the pledge of allegiance in sign language go to: http://www.mommynature.com/documents/Pledge-of-Allegiance-ASL-printable.pdf

Folding the Flag

For the proper way to fold the U. S. Flag and what each fold means go to: www.usflag.org/foldflag.html.
